Do you need a ‘time-out’? A place where you can just let go & relax… Well, I have found just the place for you! If I am being entirely honest, my hubby actually found it, so I certainly can’t take all the credit. I knew that the time he spent glued to his computer screen had to count for something! Moreover, it really is a ‘Great Find’ – a little gem, I tell you! I am very reluctant to try out new spa’s and beauty salons, perhaps because I fear being disappointed & I would rather make a ‘safe bet’ on a planned pamper session. However, my hubby, the least social one of the both of us, surprisingly loves to experience new places. I think that is where the definition of ‘teamwork’ comes to play in our relationship. Fortunately, I have him to push me out of my comfort zone, otherwise, I would have missed out on so many exciting adventures. Together we are definitely eager to explore & enjoy all the places that our beautiful & charming city, Pretoria, has to offer.
The Spa/ Beauty Salon That I’ve Been Talking About
The Experience & Aesthetics of the Spa
It is beautifully decorated with clean grey tones and glass accessories. There is a water feature inside the spa, situated at the entrance, right next to the couples treatment room. The white, easily-adjustable leather beds are covered with fluffy towels & are very comfortable, perfect for any treatment that you might be interested in – from facials to hot stone massages. For those of you who are anxious for another Crazy Hot day here in Pretoria, there is no need to panic, their airconditioning is definitely up to standard to ensure that you have the best time.
The Treatments Offered & the Qualified/Student Therapists Working at the Spa
They have a wide selection of treatments to choose from including facials, massages, waxing & many more. The services that they provide are mostly executed by the students currently enrolled at the Isa Carstens Academy. However, I have been there a couple of times and I have found the student therapists to be very professional, knowledgeable and skilled in their field. They are also friendly, accommodating & eager to impress their clients with the skills that they have obtained thus far. I have only ever had final year students tend to me as ‘therapists’ & I can honestly say that I have only been impressed.
The Squeaky Clean Salon
The cleanliness of the spa is a topic entirely on its own & it is certainly something for them to boast about! The spa is spotless and it really is comforting to experience relaxing treatments in a hygienic environment, especially if you are, like me, a bit obsessive about hygiene.
The Affordable Rates
The rates that they charge are very reasonable. I usually call & inquire about their treatments, rates & if they perhaps have a special running at the time. Perhaps its just my luck, but they almost always have a special on when I ring them, so be sure not to miss out on such an opportunity! I mean… Who will say no to a little extra spa time?
Bio Sculpture Gel Nail Polish
If you prefer having your nails done with nail polish, instead of gel or acrylic, which they definitely also offer, you are in luck. They use Bio Sculpture Gel Nail Polish and it’s absolutely fantastic! And yes, it is SO worth raving about because it is long-lasting, looks beautiful and has a great variety of colours including the latest trend, GLITTER, to choose from. For my most recent ‘glitter galore’ nails, just have a quick look at the photos below. The salon also stocks & sells Bio Sculpture Gel Nail Polish, that is if you would like to take your favourite colour home with you. Tip: before you choose a colour for your ‘mani’ or ‘pedi’, just inquire if they have that specific colour in stock available for purchase.
I hope this post encourages you to step out of your comfort zone! I am looking forward to hearing from you in the comment box below… tell Adoring Beauty about your spa experience or perhaps give suggestions on more amazing places to try out in Pretoria.
